There’s a new radio show going on the air, and it’s produced right here in Seguin.
“The Rock and Roll History Show” will delve into the true stories behind the most popular hits in music.
The show will also explore the relationships between music, technology, politics, and world events. However, don’t expect this to be a 30 minute scholarly lecture. According to coproducer and show host Brian Horowitz, “Music is a universal language. We all have our favorite songs that we know by heart. I’ve always found it fascinating to find out what the real story is. What do the lyrics really mean? What influenced the writer to go in the direction he or she did? We will be talking about all that, and listening to a lot of great music. I think it’s a great mix of entertainment and information that will give the audience a new appreciation for their favorite artists and for music in general.”
While the show is actually recorded and edited in Rockland County, New York, a bulk of the production occurs here in Seguin, Texas. The show’s co-producer and head writer, Neil Briscoe, of Seguin, says, “Brian and I have worked together on a number of projects. With today’s technology, it’s easy for us to bounce ideas off each other until we are satisfied with what we are going to do. Brian is a musician and a fan of American history, so he likes to look at things from one way. I’m a fan of literature and politics, so I like to take a different approach. We also hope for a good amount of audience participation and feedback. I think it came together nicely. ”
