HGTV debuted their national episode filmed in Seguin and McQueeney Sun. Sept.21 .
Entitled “Searching for a lakefront home in the Lone Star state.”
Episode HLFBH-103H spotlighted, before a nationwide audience, Keller Williams Realty lakefront homes and Seguin’s new Powerplant Texas Grill.
Tracie Claypool, Marketing Director for the Powerplant along with the staff of the restaurant hosted a viewing party to coincide with the premiere of the Seguin episode. Guests enjoyed a complimentary smorgasbord of the Powerplant’s unique cuisine, all presented while they watched two local businesses receive national recognition on HGTV.
In addition to the homes featured , a variety of videos of scenic Lake McQuedeney, Meadowlake and Lake Placid, as shown by Keller Williams’ Hunter Croan, showcased lakeside properties and the inclusion of water skiing, boating and wakeboarding segments added lots of local “faces and places” interest to the broadcast.
While the focus was on homes, there was an interesting historical sidebar noted for all the fishermen out there. According to Lake McQueeney residents, there once was a, whopping 104lb. catfish caught in McQueeney, weighing-in as that lake’s record-setter!
