Lifelong Seguinite here ….it was always chicken fried steak, burgers, onion rings ,white gravy, tacos and once in a while fried catfish.
Well guess what?
Finally… When you live in a great hometown like Seguin all your life it’s really nice to discover a new fine dining experience.
Tavern on the Creek , 320 W. Nolte St. is that place.
Do yourself a favor and have your next meal there.
We shared (and i say shared because that has become our tradition, several different orders sample everyone’s choices….always fun). Tonight’s choices…. appetizers, Parmesan Truffle Fries, Grilled Pear and Fig Salad.
On to main courses (in no particular order) Akaushi Beef Tips, gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, cabbage, Slow Roasted Duck, Rosemary roasted red potatoes, sauteed Kubena Farms green beans,(recognize that name?) savory orange glaze, blackened red snapper, Jasmine rice, and charred green beans.

Chef Paul Schroeder
So when i say fine cuisine here, that is an understatement, go see for yourself.
And you’ll also recognize a number of our area’s farmers, ranchers’ products on the menu like,
….Pape’s ….(they know pecans )
to pork from Wiatrek’s in Poth.
Bonus! If you go every week to the Tavern you can document the development of Seguin’s new library just across the street with your smartphone while you’re enjoying a great meal at Seguin’s newest restaurant! See you there!
